A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an obsolete address or has made a typographical error. The negative aspect of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of unsolicited email messages, but this problem can be fixed using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also vital to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

If you have a shared hosting with our company and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it’ll take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one address per domain name by clicking the corresponding button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all messages sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button once more will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have activated email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
