A parked domain name is one which is taken, yet it is not linked to any other service - web or e mail hosting. Put simply, this type of domain address won't open any real content in case you type it in an Internet browser, but no one can take it as you've already registered it and you are its owner. The advantage of acquiring a domain and parking it afterwards is the fact that you can keep it and not worry that someone else might register it in the meantime if, for instance, the website for it is not ready yet. You could create a temporary Under Construction page for a parked domain name while you are working on your website, or direct it to another web address - temporarily or permanently. The second option can be used when you have already registered domain.com, for example, and you obtain domain.net and domain.org, so that you can protect a brand name or a trademark. In this case, the .net and .org domain names can be parked and directed to the .com because you don't need different websites for them.

Parked Domains in Shared Hosting

If you have a shared hosting with us, you'll be able to park any of your domain names with ease. The feature is available for the domain names registered with us, but not for the ones which are only hosted here and directed from another company, because a domain can be parked only through its registrar. Our Domain Manager tool will permit you to choose from a variety of templates and you will be able to add your own text to any of them. Forwarding a domain name to an alternative URL is as easy as simply typing the web address and saving it. If you decide to host any of your parked domain names, it takes just a mouse click to do it and our system is going to do the rest - changing the name servers, creating a domain folder in your account, creating the necessary DNS records, etc. For simpler control, you'll be able to filter the domains registered in the account by their status - parked or hosted.
