Spam Filters
Get familiar with e-mail spam filters, how they work and how you can enable them.
An email filter is a software app that runs on a POP3/IMAP email server and ‘scans’ all incoming email messages in order to block any unrequested ones from entering a given inbox. A few instances of such emails would be: offers for pills or cash, false bank statements or attachments that contain malicious software sent with the idea of damaging your PC. Email filters typically ‘scan’ the content of an email message and if they come across some keywords or other dubious content, they either erase the message or deliver it to the Junk/Spam folder instead of the Inbox folder. Certain hosting providers mix their own email filters with up-to-the-minute databases from spam-detecting organizations, so as to guarantee better safety for their clients. Such databases include patterns, mail server IP addresses and other information about spam emails recently uncovered by these organizations.
Spam Filters in Shared Hosting
If you reach the decision to host your domain names with our company and you select any of our shared hosting, you will be able to enable spam filtering for any mailbox that you set up. With a few clicks in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel, you can switch between 5 separate levels of protection. In case you still get unsolicited bulk messages or the filters start preventing genuine email messages from reaching your inbox, you can switch to another level just as easily. The quality of our anti-spam service is guaranteed by one of the most widely used filters – SpamAssassin. If you do not want to risk skipping a legitimate message that may be mistaken for spam because of its content, you can also create custom spam filters based on the sender, the subject or the body of the message and re-send the emails to a different email account where you can review them later.
